Five people were killed in a shooting attack in central Myanmar's Magway Region on Thursday, the State Administration Council's Information Team said on Friday, reported Xinhua.
The shooting targeted a vehicle at around 5:00 p.m. local time on Thursday in Yesagyo town of Magway Region, the information team said.
"The vehicle was attacked as it exited Yasagyo town. Five people onboard the car including an engineer were killed," a police officer from Magway Region told Xinhua on Friday. The victims included two females and three males, he said.
The bodies were sent to the Yesagyo General Hospital.
"The region, especially Pakkoku, has seen frequent shooting attacks," another police official told Xinhua.
