The Israeli army killed at least 17 Palestinians in a series of airstrikes Friday on various areas of the Gaza Strip, the Civil Defense in Gaza said, reported Xinhua.
Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal told Xinhua that the bodies of 10 people, including seven children from one family, were transferred to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, after Israeli aircraft targeted their house.
In airstrikes targeting the al-Mawasi area in southern Gaza, two people were killed and several others were injured, said Basal.
In the northern Gaza Strip, the Israeli army killed three people in an airstrike on a gathering of Palestinians in the al-Atatra area of northern Gaza's Beit Lahia, according to Basal. The spokesperson added that the Israeli army killed two Palestinians in another airstrike after bombing the gate of a school in the same area.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Friday that the Air Force has struck approximately 40 targets in the Gaza Strip over the past day, including "terrorist cells, structures used for terrorist activities, weapons, and additional terrorist infrastructure sites."
Meanwhile, the Israeli army reiterated its orders to residents of areas east of Gaza City to evacuate.
Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee said in a statement, "An urgent warning and a serious warning to all residents of the Gaza Strip located in the Shuja'iyya area and the neighborhoods of Ajdida, Turkman, al-Zeitoun al-Sharqi, al-Nour, and al-Tuffah. The IDF is operating with great force in your areas to destroy terrorist infrastructure."
He added, "For your own safety, you must evacuate these areas immediately and move to the known shelters in western Gaza City."
At least 1,542 Palestinians were killed and 3,940 others injured since Israel renewed its intensive strikes on March 18 across the Gaza Strip, Gaza-based health authorities said on Friday.
