Iran launched a fresh missile salvo at Israel on Tuesday morning, as the conflict entered its fifth day, marking the most intense confrontation between the two nations to date, reported Xinhua.
The Israeli military said the attack triggered sirens across Israel and the occupied West Bank, sending millions of people into shelters during the morning rush hour. Eyewitnesses in Tel Aviv reported multiple explosions, likely caused by aerial interceptions.
State-owned Kan TV reported that one missile struck a bus parking lot north of Tel Aviv, igniting a fire in one of the vehicles.
A spokesperson for Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service said no casualties were reported, but 10 people were treated for light injuries sustained while running for shelter.
In a separate pre-dawn incident, Iran fired a ballistic missile that was intercepted, a security official told Xinhua.
The Israeli military also said that around 30 drones launched by Iran overnight were intercepted by the air force.
Israeli airstrikes on Iran continued overnight, with the military saying that warplanes targeted military infrastructure across the country.
"During the strikes, dozens of surface-to-surface missile storage and launch sites were hit," the military said in a statement. It added that surface-to-air missile systems and drone storage facilities in western Iran were also targeted.
