Iran on Monday executed a man convicted of espionage against the country for Israel's intelligence agency Mossad, reported Xinhua, quoting the Mizan news agency of the Iranian judiciary.
The convict, identified as Esmail Fekri, was hanged following complete judicial proceedings and the upholding of his death sentence by the Supreme Court of Iran, the report said.
He was arrested in a complicated technical and intelligence operation in Iran in December 2023 while contacting and cooperating with Mossad, said Mizan.
According to the report, Fekri sought to send Iran's classified and sensitive information to Mossad in return for money.
Iran in late May announced the execution of another individual, identified as Pedram Madani, on the conviction of spying for Israel.
