Iran on Monday accused the United States of being "complicit" in recent Israeli airstrikes on its territory, alleging that the attacks were carried out with American-supplied weapons and resulted in significant casualties, including senior military officials and civilians, reported Xinhua.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei directly blamed Washington for the strike, describing it as "a blatant act of aggression." He asserted that the operation could not have been executed without U.S. coordination, support, and involvement.
"The United States bears responsibility for the deaths and destruction caused by this assault," Baghaei said, claiming that Washington is complicit in every life lost and every structure damaged.
In a major escalation of regional tensions, Israel launched large-scale airstrikes early Friday, killing several military commanders, scientists, and dozens of civilians. Iran responded with retaliatory strikes later that day, and the exchange of fire continued into Monday.
Iranian government spokesman Fatemeh Mohajerani, speaking in a televised address, said at least 45 women and children had been killed and another 75 wounded in what she described as a series of Israeli attacks in recent days. She argued that the civilian toll contradicted Israel's claim that it was targeting only military infrastructure.
Mohajerani also condemned a reported strike on Farabi Hospital in the western city of Kermanshah, calling it further proof of what she described as the brutal nature of the Israeli government.
She emphasized that the attacks had galvanized a sense of national unity within Iran, saying even citizens with longstanding grievances had rallied in solidarity, placing the country's interests above all else.
