Two policemen were shot dead on Wednesday in a terrorist attack in the Dera Ismail Khan district of Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, reported Xinhua, quoting the police.
Spokesperson of the Dera Ismail Khan police Yaqoob Khan said that a group of three terrorists opened fire at the police personnel on duty when they were heading to a market in the Kulachi district of KP.
Following the incident, the Counter Terrorism Department personnel chased the terrorists and killed one of them during a fire exchange while two others managed to flee.
"Arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorist, while a search operation is ongoing to trace the remaining culprits," the spokesperson added.
